Trend Alert – Beautiful Skin is in!

Skincare

In case you hadn’t heard, beautifully subtle golden skin is definitely in!

Glowing, exquisitely natural skin is the base of all things beauty, and – as seen at Stella McCartney’s Paris Fashion Week runway show 2014 – it’s barely there with merely defined eyes and balmy lips. Preparing your makeup for a night on the town doesn’t always have to involve the glam girls go to ‘smoky eye’ or the statement bold, bright lip. However by combining the right techniques, products and shades, your skin could be the star of the show. So how do we do it?

Golden Glowing Skin #1:  Be Perfectly Prepped!

Beautifully hydrated skin makes for perfectly prepped skin also. Ideally for this look to work your facial skin needs to be fairly imperfection free. So taking good care and treating the skin with respect on the lead up to your night out or big event will stand you in good stead. Why not try a hydrating mask like  Thalgos Moisture Quenching Mask the night before or for any last minute breakouts try Trilogy Blemish Control Gel.

Golden Glowing Skin #2:  Find your Perfect Match!

It’s vitally important in achieving such a look that your foundation shade be exactly right. A trick of the trade is to test shades just below the cheekbone and the one that disappears into your skin as you blend is the winner. Clarins flawless light-reflecting, hydrating foundation.  Clarins Skin Illusion foundation is formulated, with SPF 10, and perfectly combines mineral and plant active ingredients to create a naturally radiant complexion. Available in over 9 shades your guaranteed to find the shade that will deliver a healthy looking glow that blends beautifully with both the colour and texture of your skin

Golden Glowing Skin #3:  Contouring & Highlighting is the new black!

Firstly begin by highlighting your forehead, cheekbones, and eyes and straight down the line of the nose bone. Using a facial highlighter like  Clarins - Palette Éclat Face & Blush Powder blending the colours to ensure a more dewy finish. Secondly, contour beneath the cheekbones (suck in your cheeks and follow the hollow line), sides of the nose and sides of the forehead. Follow with a shimmery bronzer like  Clarins Bronzing Duo which will help to create a glowing effect.

Golden glowing skin #4:  Colours your lids Bronze!

To emerge as the golden goddess use a dark bronze colour on the eyelids, roughly two to three shades darker than your skins natural tone. Again, make sure it has a shimmery finish, as a matte finish will not have the same glowing effect. Try the iridescent shimmering finish of  theBalm Cosmetics - Caught in the act courtney/rich brown, an ideal shade for any neutral look featuring finely milled pigments the shadow glides on silky smooth and retains its depth of colour!

Golden glowing skin step #5:  Pass me the Mascara Please!

The only non-neutral colour you require to complete this entire look is black mascara. Put the eyeliner safely away, just fantastic mascara that will separate the lashes and coat them evenly and fully.  Model Co - Fatlash Black Mascara will give you great definition and volume enabling you to flaunt those flickering full figured lashes and to accentuate the eyes further, completing your golden glowing look in style!

Top tip: Why not apply a clear or nude gloss/sheen to the lips so they’re not completely lost within the neutral tones.

What do you think of the ‘skin is in’ trend? Would you be confident enough to wear a make-up look like this?
