Autumn/Winter Trends 2010/11 from Fashion Week

Joseph Altuzarra's Autumn Collection seen here at New York Fashion Week shows that chic urban warrior is a trend hot for Autumn/Winter 2010. Designers love the idea of a strong looking woman, and with strong makeup looks, this look is a show stopper.

An abrupt shift from those lovely ice-creamy colours of the summer. Our summer had brought floaty fabrics with glamour girly looks but all is not lost as we did see some eccentric colour combinations too. Winter has in store - the more cosy furs and tailored looks with the more severe side of sexy being portrayed...but trés sexy!

Another cosy addition is 'The Cape' - seen all over fashion week, these practical and stylish throws give a fab silouhette and are really comfy. Capes are autumn/winter 2010-11's ultimate throw-on-and-go update.

The new season trousers are elegant, easy, and flattering - and we here at Beauty Features say woohoo! No more looking at harem, paper bag, jodhpurs....strange!

All in all it looked to be the most wearable

couture collection displayed in a long long time. Hair and make-up looks were equally as manageable with a focus on natural skin, and a strong lip or eye. Jean Paul Gaultier had quite a film noir feel to his show, with strong red lips evident. A look that was even given the seal of approval by Dita Von Teese who performed a burlesque striptease at the show.
